As you guys know, B's birthday party was this passed Sunday. It was a pretty big one since it was his official milestone into a big boy! The big F I V E! Every year I make it a point to tell myself that I am planning something "simple" so that I don't overwhelm myself and truly enjoy a stress-free day.
And every year that is not the case. I tend to over complicate my life and plan detailed parties... but hey, hear me out... I love planning parties for my kids and I've decided I'm going to do it until I can and have the desire and energy for these stressful parties! Because let's face the only ones stressing are us! The kids are typically super happy with pretty much anything we plan for them.
Onto the party...

I dont' like to use one theme and over do it so I always combine the theme with a classic touch, so it's not over powering. And for B's superhero/spiderman party I did just that! I teamed up with Oriental Trading and they provided me with goodies for the party. I've always bought my party supplies from them, so this time it was really nice to be able to partner with them for some of the things we needed for our party.
We had the party Sunday, August 7th in my back yard! Fun fact it was our first time having a birthday party at home for the kids since we never had a year until this year, so it was extra special!

Everything turned out so cute and so I wanted to share some ideas and hopefully you'll be
inspired to host your next kids' party. My favorite was the cake table and goodie bags! The cake was actually in my fridge up until we sang Happy Birthday since it was a tres leches cake! yum!
The best part of all of this is spending such a special day with our family and friends... the kids were so happy and had so much fun. Motherhood gets wild but always rewarding.
